Newsweek Names Help at Home as One of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Black Americans 2025

Recognition highlights commitment to fostering an inclusive environment

[CHICAGO, Ill. – Feb. 19, 2025] Help at Home, the leading national provider of innovative, high-quality, relationship-based in-home personal care services, announced today it has been named by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Black Americans 2025. This recognition reinforces Help at Home’s ongoing commitment to cultivating a workplace where diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) are at the heart of its mission. Help at Home has been recognized numerous times as a Greatest Workplace by Newsweek in the past few years.

Among 500 companies acknowledged by Newsweek for this recognition across the U.S., Help at Home stands out for its intentional efforts to create equitable career opportunities, amplify diverse voices, and foster an environment where Black employees feel valued, heard and empowered.

“This recognition reaffirms our 50-year commitment to ensuring that every team member—regardless of background—has the opportunity to thrive,” said Culture, Inclusion and Diversity Director Muziet Shata. “By prioritizing a culture of ‘caring for the caregiver,’ we enhance job satisfaction, deepen engagement and strengthen the lasting relationships that define the heart of our work.”

This is the first year Newsweek has recognized organizations in this category. According to Newsweek’s announcement, “studies show that Black workers remain underrepresented in high-paying industries while facing higher rates of unemployment compared to other racial groups. These disparities underscore the need for workplaces that create possibilities for growth and advancement for all. Fortunately, many U.S. companies are stepping up to meet this challenge.”

At Help at Home, fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce isn’t just a commitment—it’s a proven strategy for better care and stronger communities. With an employee and caregiver population that mirrors the diversity of the clients they serve, Help at Home continues to build long-lasting caregiver-client relationships, which average over four years—enhancing trust, care quality and overall satisfaction.
