Help at Home Leader Rose Trevino Receives McKnight’s Home Care Women of Distinction Award

Rose Trevino’s career choice grew out of her childhood experience. As Holocaust survivors, her grandparents could have greatly benefited from many available mental health resources, but they weren’t aware of those resources available to them. Out of this experience Rose intentionally chose her career path that has been squarely focused on ensuring people have help navigating the health care system.

Rose was recently named a rising star in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Awards program, which honors women making a difference with their contributions in skilled nursing, senior living, and home care.

Rose became a licensed clinical social worker and certified dementia practitioner. For more than a decade, she worked in aging care case management and social work – where she worked to build trust with clients so she could connect them to services.

“I understand that for many older adults – especially those with limited financial resources, limited ability to use technology, and limited mobility – it can seem impossible to get the help they need,” she said. “My work has always been about connecting people with the resources that will help them live a meaningful life with dignity.”

In 2021, she joined Help at Home on a team with the goal to reimagine how to improve and better coordinate care programs and services to help aging-in-place seniors stay in their homes as healthy as independently as possible.

“I am inspired by the compassion that Rose brings to her job every day,” said Help at Home President of Care Coordination Julie McCarter. “Her background, training and compassion are the perfect combination. The work she does to enable our Care Coordination business has been critical to our success. Congratulations to Rose for the recognition for her contributions that are making a difference in the lives of people in need of care and support services!”
